The mission of Nusenics is to develop and commercialize fiber-optic sensor systems with unparalleled performances or new capabilities. Leveraging the inherent advantage of of fiber-optic sensors including immunity to electromagnetic interference, remote sensing, resistance to harsh environment, chemical inertness, small size, and light weight, we work closely with our customers to provide sensor solutions and develop products with tailored performance parameters that meet the specific needs of our customers.
Nusenics if a start-up founded in September 2021 by Dr. Ming Han, a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU). The company is commercializing high-speed fiber-optic temperature sensors for oceanographic and meteorological applications and high-sensitivity fiber-optic bolometers for measurement of plasma radiation in magnetic confinement fusion devices. The underlying technologies were developed through years of research in the university labs (previously University of Nebraska-Lincoln and currently MSU) led by Dr. Han in collaborations with his colleagues from U.S. Naval Research Lab, Oak Ridge National Lab, University of Tennessee at Knoxville with funding from Department of Energy and Office of Naval Research.
